Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Operations within its executive leadership staff. This position, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, will play a pivotal role in the oversight of and success of the company's operations business groups. These groups are the execution arm of Odyssey and directly support our customers. The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of contract performance for our customer base and will ensure all key performance indicators for contract execution are monitored. Such KPIs include but are not limited to customer satisfaction ratings, profit and loss (P&L), employee satisfaction, and adherence to corporate processes and procedures by group team members.
The individual who holds this position will play a key role in the growth and success of the organization. The successful leader will be a passionate, strong, respectful leader, and must possess the ability to solve complex business challenges. The individual will help lead the organization through our next growth phase.

This full-time position is required to be located at the corporate headquarters in Wakefield, MA.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Defining processes and plans for mitigation of corporate roadblocks.
  • Ensure that the operations group functions in line with the strategy and objectives of the organization.
  • Guiding, directing and evaluating the work of management and executive team members within the operations group
  • Align the operational group objectives with the corporate strategic plan and ensures groups are performing to these objectives
  • Routinely examine the performance of the operations groups and adjusts processes and procedures to ensure a high level of team performance
  • Serve as an experienced operations resource, offering problem resolution and documenting findings and alternative approaches.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with all functional leaders of the organization to ensure collaboration, communication and cooperation.
  • Ability to advise operational leadership on complex execution activities that lead to successfully maximizing value to employees, customer and company
  • Prepare and present status of the operations division activities to the executive leadership team.
  • Participate in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data that requires the ability to use critical thinking skills.
  • Responsible for group P&L in alignment with corporate objectives


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret Clearance

Education: Minimum of bachelor's degree in business, finance or related discipline

Years of Experience: At least 15 or more years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Top Secret Clearance

Education: MBA

Technical Skills
  • Proven experience with change management and the ability to provide top-down communication to team members and guide them through corporate changes as needed.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Government contractor business operations, processes, and technical solutions leading to efficiencies in line with corporate objectives.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and the ability to understand, propose, and execute integration strategies that align with the business processes and our technology capabilities, strategy and business objectives.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills to deliver effective solutions for the company and their team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, work under pressure, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Experience working within Department of Defense through military, civilian, or as a direct support contractor
  • Proven record of managing multiple staff within departmental, programmatic, or functional areas to ensure results
  • Experience preparing and presenting results related to programmatic or functional progress to corporate leadership

Please note: Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
