Senior Software Engineer

Amentum is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. Primary work location will be in Fredericksburg, VA or Dahlgren, VA with possible telecommute options.

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Developing and/or verifying software system specifications and requirements documentation, develop support system software capabilities, features, or enhancements.
• Planning, performing, and leading software design, coding, and testing.
• Working with customers and engineers in an adaptive Agile environment, build and maintaining the latest software projects for the navy, and helping expand our software capabilities.
• Communicating status, risks, issues, and ideas for innovation directly to the PM.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics) with 20 years of Software Development Experience, Software Design experience in DOD Weapons Systems

• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
• Must Know the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, Assembly.

Preferred experience:

• Familiarity with as many as able of the following: RHEL, RTOS-E, Solaris or System-V based Unix, RHEL, FEDORA, or CentOS, some CI/CD Pipeline and Static Analysis tools such as Jenkins, Coverity, Cppcheck.
• Experience with and proficient with at least one of the following Object-oriented programming (OOP) languages: C/C++ or Java
