Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $146,536 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Job Description
GDIT is seeking a highly qualified Virtru Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the CITS contract for USCENTCOM. As a Virtru SME, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's data protection and security infrastructure, utilizing Virtru technologies. Your expertise will help secure sensitive data and ensure compliance with stringent security and privacy requirements across multiple environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Virtru SME with a robust background in securing sensitive data, implementing data encryption solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The SME will be responsible for:
- Designing, Implementing, and Managing Virtru Solutions: Lead the integration and deployment of Virtru data protection and encryption technologies, ensuring secure email and data sharing across platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure the configuration and management of Virtru solutions to comply with organizational and regulatory standards, including NIST, CIS, and FISMA.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Address complex technical issues related to Virtru deployment, including encryption failures, data leakage risks, and access control issues. Utilize root cause analysis and apply solutions based on best practices.
- Collaboration with IT Teams: Work alongside other IT teams, including security, compliance, and infrastructure teams, to integrate Virtru solutions into the broader IT ecosystem, ensuring seamless interoperability with other security solutions.
- Data Protection Strategy: Develop and implement data loss prevention strategies using Virtru technologies, ensuring both proactive and reactive measures are in place to safeguard sensitive data.
- Mentorship & Training: Develop TTPs and training material to educate junior engineers and staff to help them develop proficiency in Virtru technologies and data protection best practices.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date documentation on Virtru configurations, security policies, and best practices to ensure alignment with industry standards and organizational requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for Virtru encryption configurations and key management, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging Virtru features and technologies, recommending solutions to enhance data security, scalability, and efficiency within the organization.
- Vendor and Third-Party Collaboration: Engage with Virtru support teams and third-party vendors for troubleshooting, issue resolution, and updates to the technology stack.
- Security Policy Compliance: Ensure all Virtru implementations comply with relevant security regulations and organizational policies related to data protection, privacy, and encryption.
Education and Certifications:
Required:
- Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
- Virtru Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent Virtru-related certification
Desired:
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
- Virtru Certified Expert (VCE) or equivalent advanced Virtru certification
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field with 8+ years of experience OR 12+ years of applicable experience in data protection and encryption technologies
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience deploying and managing Virtru data protection solutions, including email encryption, file encryption, and access control.
- In-depth understanding of data encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and data protection frameworks.
- Expertise in secure email and file sharing technologies, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, IT infrastructure, and compliance teams.
- Solid understanding of security policies, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks including NIST and CIS.
- Ability to create, modify, and maintain comprehensive documentation for encryption deployments and related configurations.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or Terraform for automating data protection workflows.
- Experience working with USCENTCOM or similar organizations in high-security environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security and cloud-based encryption solutions in relation to Virtru deployments.
Clearance Requirement:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance required
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required to support USCENTCOM exercises and operations, including OCONUS locations.
