TIAG is now hiring a System Administrator to join our team supporting the Defense Health Agency Mission at Ft. Meade. As the System Administrator, this role will assist with maintaining and monitoring the IT infrastructure and maintaining a secure information technology system operation. This is a full-time position with a hybrid telework option, reporting up to 3 times per week on-site.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide system administrator functions for design and testing systems in a DoD environment.
  • Proficient in setting up new servers, performing data backups/snapshots, migrating data to new servers, and decommissioning legacy systems.
  • Knowledgeable with virtual servers, preferably VMware, with daily backups managed by DHA.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for hardware and software administration, installation, interoperability, configuration management, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Operate and manage the server infrastructure, including the administration, installation, configuration, upgrade, and sustainment of all servers running operating systems including but not limited to Microsoft Windows
  • Assist various teams in scanning and patching all assets, completing STIG checklists, and mitigating all CAT I and CAT II open findings
  • Manage Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy Objects (GPO) in a Windows domain
  • Deploy patches and packages with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and service records
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for system administration, usage, and disaster recovery
  • Engineer experience migrating for conversion from Office to Office 365 to include email, distribution lists, and mailboxes


Required Experience:
  • DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain Secret clearance
  • An Information Assurance certification in compliance with DoD 8570 (e.g., Security+, CISSP) (IAT Level II) is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably in a DoD environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Active Directory, maintaining directory services, GPO management (GPMC), system administration of Windows, and operating system hardening techniques.
  • Intermediate skills in identifying and anticipating server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, Office 365, and Microsoft Visio
  • Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or DoD Cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft SharePoint Online
  • Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones.
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Strong communication skills; motivated to investigate, analyze, and document system issues and resolutions; provides consistent status updates to ensure IT security projects stay focused
  • Strong work ethic and a proven professional - respectful, dependable, takes initiative, and follows through

Pay Range: $100,000 - $115,000 per year
