Network Engineer

Job Description:
ITEC is seeking a senior-level network professional to join a small team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, fault-tolerant multi-agency network infrastructure. The role covers rack-level, data center, and transport layers, with challenges driven by expanding program needs. Most work is on-site, with some travel, including possible international assignments. Leadership opportunities are available within your expertise, as well as in other areas.
Required Skills:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in network engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Expertise in Juniper (preferred) and/or Cisco networking devices.
- Relevant certifications for Juniper (preferred) and/or Cisco devices.
- Strong proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, IPv4, UDP (including multicast), TLS, VPLS, and GRE.
- Experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), EVPN (Ethernet over BGP/VXLAN or MPLS/VXLAN), multicast, STP, VLANs, trunking, LAN, WAN, and network security features (firewalls, ACLs).
- Security+ or CISSP certification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
Desired Skills:
- Juniper Certifications (JNCIA/S/P/E).
- Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP).
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and work within a team.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, etc.
- Familiarity with networking on Linux and/or BSD systems, including system administration.
- Experience working with multicast protocols.
- Willingness to take on engineering responsibilities and present network designs and solutions to the team, agency, and end customers.
- Openness to travel within the US and internationally, as needed.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
