JOB SUMMARY:  MCSG is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) developer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron’s (392 CTS) USSF exercise mission. The 392 CTS operates the organic state-of-the-art Space Wargaming Analysis, Readiness and Mission-Planner (SWARM) capability to provide space M&S for USSF exercises and mission-focused events.  The M&S Developer will support scenario development using current Systems Toolkit (STK)-based SWARM capabilities and will conduct operational acceptance testing of government-approved third-party M&S tools and capabilities.  The M&S Developer will also support USSF exercise events (e.g., planning conferences, rehearsal of concept (ROC) drills, and exercise execution. This position is at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, and requires on-site support.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Collaborate with internal 392 CTS USSF exercise planners and external stakeholders to determine USSF exercise-related M&S requirements.
Create orbital and terrestrial models and simulations using SWARM, STK, and other applicable tools to develop M&S scenarios required to execute USSF exercises and mission-focused events.
Assist with developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for operational testing and acceptance of new M&S capabilities to determine the applicability of specialized or third-party M&S capabilities to meet USSF exercise requirements.
Identify gaps and shortfalls in current M&S tools and recommend solutions to provide timely, realistic exercise capabilities.
Provide assistance to USSF exercise planning conferences, coordination meetings, training events, etc.
Participate as part of the Exercise Control Group (ECG) and White Cell, as required, for various 392 CTS-hosted exercises and mission-focused events.
Capture, analyze, and report observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of 392 CTS-hosted exercises and mission-focused events.
Support hot wash debriefs and After Action Report development for applicable exercises or mission-focused events.
Prepare event-related documents (i.e., trip reports, exercise planning/execution products, after-action reports, lessons learned, and meeting minutes) within established time frames.
Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience using STK, ODTK, and other M&S tools to plan analysis of orbital maneuvers, build functional orbital and space terrestrial models (e.g., space domain awareness (SDA), communications, electronic warfare, directed energy), and develop exercise scenarios.
Experience supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis of national security space-related problems.
Experience space M&S capabilities for system evaluation and mission effectiveness.
Experience (i.e., a basic proficiency) in coding languages (e.g., Python, Matlab, Perl)
Experience in orbit analysis and prediction.
This position requires limited travel (3-4 weeks/year)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience managing M&S projects from initial design to completion.
Level III certified in STK
Previously certified Orbital Analyst
Graduate of Space 300 and the 319 CTS/ASOPS Advanced Orbital Mechanics courses
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 10+ years working in or for DoD organizations.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
