Senior Information Systems Security Officer

Praxis Engineering has an immediate need for a Senior Information Systems Security Officer. What you will be doing:

The Senior Information Systems Security Officer will provide support for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program which includes:
  • Providing support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies
  • Maintaining operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed
  • Assisting with the management of security aspects of the information system and perform day-to-day security operations of the system
  • Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information
  • Performing vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation
  • Providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware
  • Managing and implementing changes to the system and assessing the security impact of those changes
  • Preparing and reviewing documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)
  • Supporting security authorization activities in compliance with NSA/CSS Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)


What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree, and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience; 4 years of additional ISSO experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
  • Linux System Administration experience, including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
  • Experience providing end-user support, to include phone, email and in person contact, as well as experience assisting end users with new desktop capabilities and/or software
  • Ability to configure and administer a vCenter environment, vSphere ESXi servers; daily configuration and maintenance, backups, strong understanding of TCP/IP networking including VLANs, creating and managing DHCP scopes, and managing DNS servers; configure and maintain backup architecture, perform test restores;
  • Be able to perform all routine maintenance, basic configuration of Cisco IOS devices (switch port configuration, VLAN creation, etc.) experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools
  • Experience with agency tools such as Scanboy , Latteart , etc
  • Experience managing multiple SSP's (both classified and unclassified)
  • Experience with staying up-to-date on policy and playbook changes
  • Experience managing STE and Health and Status requirements in a software development environment
  • Ability to interact with Government stakeholders and developers a must
  • Required certifications: DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher

Salary range:
$ 132,918 .00 - $ 287,470 . 00 (Annually)*
