Overview
The Automation Tester II is a senior member of the team who plays a key role in evaluating software for automation needs, implementing scalable automation frameworks, and writing maintainable automation test scripts. This role involves leveraging modern development principles, such as modular design, reusable components, and data-driven testing methodologies, to ensure robust and efficient test automation. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, a deep understanding of automation best practices, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education/Experience: This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or relevant work experience. Experience with government and/or Department of Defense environments preferred.
Work Location: Work location will be in a Nakupuna Companies office 2 days on-site with a hybrid option.
Clearance: A background investigation at the T3 level is required, as this is not currently a classified position. Must be a U.S. citizen.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 to $115,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.

- Maintain and enhance modular, scalable automation frameworks by leveraging SOLID principles, Page Object Model (POM), and Fluent API for intuitive and efficient test automation workflows.
- Implement and maintain data-driven test suites.
- Create and manage reusable action modules to streamline role-specific workflows, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
- Continuously update and refactor automation test scripts in response to evolving software requirements and new feature releases.
- Stay current with emerging automation tools, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into the framework as appropriate.
- Coordinate execution of test scripts and ensure documentation of results in centralized test logs or defect tracking systems.
- Evaluate manual test cases for automation feasibility and support manual test case execution when needed.
- Maintain and enhance centralized error handling and logging mechanisms to ensure robust and scalable automation test scripts.
- Execute test cases, analyze results, track defects, and report test execution metrics to stakeholders.
- Promote and facilitate information sharing, cross-team training, and mentoring of junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

- Extensive experience in Python for test automation, including implementing and managing modern automation frameworks.
- Expertise in designing and maintaining modular test automation frameworks using SOLID principles and the Page Object Model (POM).
- Familiarity with the Screenplay Model or similar structured automation approaches (ie. RGTA: Roles, Goals, Tasks, Actions) to model workflows and user behaviors in a modular, reusable manner.
- Proficient in Selenium for web automation, including the ability to integrate it into scalable frameworks.
- Experience with Pytest, including writing, organizing, and maintaining test scripts with reusable components.
- Hands-on experience leveraging JSON/JSON Schema for structured test data, validation, and automation workflows.
- Familiarity with building and utilizing Fluent API patterns to create intuitive, readable, and maintainable test scripts.
- Strong understanding of centralized error handling and implementing robust logging mechanisms in automated scripts.
- Strong skills in debugging and troubleshooting automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Experience with SQL for querying databases and familiarity with XML for data handling.
- Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies and how test automation fits into Agile workflows.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience with PeopleSoft or ERP systems is a plus.
