Full Stack Developer - Ruby: Senior and Expert Levels

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Inferno Systems is looking for a full stack developer with a minimum of 7+ years of
development experience as a part of an agile team working in a fast-paced, operational
environment refining and enhancing existing applications. You need to be a self-starter who
can assist development and the architecture of new solutions. You will take user and
customer requirements and develop mockups which will be turned into full featured
applications.
JOB SUMMARY:
You will be working on an operational-facing platform as a part of a team that creates and
maintains several web apps. These web apps are critical to supporting ongoing operations
and have high visibility from both users and managers. You will be in a flexible working
environment with supportive management.
You will need to be agile in responding to shifting operational requirements, timelines and
priorities, while also working in a tight-knit team environment where innovative ideas are
encouraged. You should be able to write strong code, which will be peer-reviewed, while
also providing review of others' code to ensure accountability and code quality. You will be
able to interface directly with customers and users while participating in all phases of the
development lifecycle to drive forward the customer's mission.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• At least 5 years developing in Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JQuery.
• At least 5 years developing Rails
• Familiarity with Node.js, View.js, GWT, React.js and/or Backbone.js.
• Familiarity with Bootstrap, Material and/or Tailwind
• Familiarity and comfortable working with a Linux environment
• Experience using GitHub or GitLab repos and issues for bug and feature tracking.
• Experience scripting in Python and/or Bash
• Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL,
PostgreSQL and/or Oracle
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripting and/or Ansible.
• Ability to automate build processes using Jenkins
• Ability to troubleshoot Rails applications such as Apache HTTPD, Solr
• Familiarity with testing pipelines using RSpec and Cucumber
• Familiarity with extract, transform, load (ETL) operations, Restful APIs and multiple
character encodings.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and stability of the code base.
• Strong documentation and oral communication skills
