Major Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and supervises custodial work and supervises employees engaged in the performance of custodial tasks in the Embassy (EOB/NEC/NOB) cleared office areas, conference rooms, special purpose (data processing and communication) areas, toilets, lobbies, corridors, stairways, under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor. May also be required to perform all custodial tasks as needed.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
dusting, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, polishing, trash collection and
removal, classified material collection, destruction and disposal, window washing, and
replenishment of toilet supplies. Where afterhours access is not permitted, these services
will be scheduled during the daytime.
Qualifications
A minimum of six years experience in planning and supervision of custodial services for office and recreational facilities is required. A working knowledge of and experience in selection and use of custodial equipment, chemicals and tools is required. Must have experience in training custodians, preparing schedules and ordering expendable supplies. Must be familiar with computers and be able to produce email, word processing documents, basic spreadsheets, and work schedules via an Access database.
Must be 21 years of age or older; completed secondary school or obtained a GED and possess a valid driver's license. A Top Secret security clearance is required. Must have good English communication skillsA basic understanding of the Russian language is highly desirable.
Must have oral and written communication skills sufficient to produce employee evaluations and written reports for upper management and to brief upper management on project status.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures that custodians perform all tasks in a safe manner.
- Ensures that all custodial services are performed in a manner comparable to the commercial or government executive level.
- Schedules, normally on regular workdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. (can fluctuate), daily and periodic cleaning services which include
dusting, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, polishing, trash collection and
removal, classified material collection, destruction and disposal, window washing, and
replenishment of toilet supplies. Where afterhours access is not permitted, these services
will be scheduled during the daytime.
- Maintains records for each major task and major areas reflecting planned and actual performance of periodic services.
- Prepares separate lists of consumable supplies, and non-consumable equipment and tools and associated costs required to perform all custodial tasks for one year.
