Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer III - Deputy, Digital Engineer to join our Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team in the Los Angeles, CA area supporting Assured Access to Space, Space Systems Command, United States Space Force.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • In collaboration with the Digital Engineering Manager, lead a multifunctional team developing digital engineering applications such as cloud based digital engineering environments, model based systems engineering architectures and digital transformation of system engineering processes.
  • Develop full lifecycle software development solutions from ideation through deployment using modern software development practices such as Agile, Kanban boards, and Scrum.
  • Assist in process development, roadmap modifications, and sprint execution.
  • Work hands on to accomplish required tasks and assist others in developing skills through expert knowledge.
  • Manage team projects involving cross-functional model based systems engineers, cloud engineering, and software engineers.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and improving enterprise level solutions based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Build rapport and establish trust with the customer by demonstrating expertise in your product or services and provide helpful, relevant solutions to their problems.
  • Provide expert knowledge in at least one of the following subject areas:
    • Requirements Engineering: requirements gathering, requirement decomposition, SMART requirements
    • Launch Systems Engineering: launch vehicle ground operations, manufacture, test, and support systems
    • Project Management: Agile'/Scrum, Kanban Boards, Planning/Execution/Monitoring/Closing
    • Model Based Systems Engineering: SysML, MOSA, digital thread development, Model Integration
    • Full stack engineering: frontend (i.e. JavaScript, CSS, Python, Typescript, REACT, Angular), backend (i.e. Python, C++, Node JS, Go), databases (i.e. MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, CassandraDB), and DevOps (CI/CD, AWS or similar cloud infrastructure)
  • Provide mentorship to other ManTech employees, as needed, to continue to build teamwork and synergy within our organization and with our Government customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or STEM.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a systems engineer, technical PM, or other related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and develop strategic level solutions to address customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders and synergize opportunities to meet customer requirements.
  • Experience working with senior level DoD leadership in a Program Office environment.
  • Proven track record of developing innovative solutions through engineering first principles and leading projects in an agile environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft tools including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Information Technology (IT) systems and SharePoint-type databases.
  • Demonstrated competency in agile tools including Jira/Trello, Confluence, BitBucket/GitLab/GitHub, and Visual Studio Code.
  • Systems engineering fundamentals with respect to requirements and requirements verification
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, successful collaboration with multiple agencies and personnel, excellent oral and written communication skills.


Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have an Active SECRET clearance with an ability to obtain and maintain a TS SCI Clearance


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
