Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support our DHS customer responsible for delivering professional, high quality services directly to end users. The qualified applicant will support our team of developers building the next generation of customer engagement systems for federal service agencies.
This is a hybrid role and requires to be on-site in the Colorado Springs office 4 times per month.

Peraton is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support our DHS customer responsible for delivering professional, high quality services directly to end users. Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases.
- Responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, and security, as well as supporting business needs by collaborating with development teams and other stakeholders.
- Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management.
- Install database management systems (DBMS).
- Provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.
- Analyze and optimize database performance, including query tuning and index management.
- Troubleshoot database issues, identifying and resolving root causes promptly.
- Monitor system performance using performance tuning tools and scripts.
- Monitor and maintain database performance, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 0 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 4 years' experience.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must have an Active SECRET clearance.
- Experience in writing and tuning SQL queries.
- Experience with installation, configuration and administration of SQL Server.
- Experience in designing and implementing database structures.
- Understanding of database architecture, systems, and performance tuning.
- Experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Experience in a large scale Federal IT Program.
- Experience with SAFe Agile delivery framework.
