SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates business programming applications activities in areas such as finance, human resources, and marketing.
- Conducts and prepares feasibility studies for new data processing applications or revisions to existing systems.
- Prepares and presents project proposals to management and user departments.
- Establishes programming standards and program documentation requirements.
- Reviews current status of system applications and prepares recommendations for systems improvements.
- Monitors design processes and prepares reports on systems projects.
- Provide support on the update and maintenance of AEA division program management databases WBS Live and Ops Center and provide support for the enhancement of AEA WXS tracking and reporting capabilities.
- Provide assistance in supporting other related systems as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
- End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
- Ensures software standards are met. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee).
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- Bachelor's and two (2) years or more experience; master's and zero (0) years or more experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
- Security+ or A+ Certification
- Windows administrator experience
- Understanding of server/client systems
- Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
- US Citizenship
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML/XSLT, SOAP/Web Services, VBA, VB.NET, C#.
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008, SharePoint 3.0 (Plus MOSS 2007 Administration), SourceSafe.
- Must be able to work with end users or small groups to resolve system issues as they arise
- Able to communicate cross-functionally with all levels.
- Thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
- Team-oriented attitude.
