The Undersea Technology Analysis Portfolio (UTAP), within the Sea, Land, & Air Analysis Group in SPA, conducts rigorous and objective analyses to enable the Navy and other DoD organizations to make decisions, plans, and strategies to deliver emerging undersea technologies and warfighting capabilities. We support clients across the undersea and naval special warfare enterprises, including those within resourcing and requirements (OPNAV N97), acquisition (program offices for undersea technologies and naval special warfare), and science and technology (Office of Naval Research, DARPA) Our enduring capabilities include:
SPA has a near term need for a Human Systems Integration Engineer for upcoming support to the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants (USC), located at the Washington Navy Yard, DC. PEO USC, through affiliated program offices, designs, procures, and builds the Navy's unmanned surface and undersea systems delivering the capabilities needed to support a range of fleet operations in the at the best cost-efficient value. The portfolio includes a wide range of UxVs, including Unmanned Surface Vehicles/Vessels (USVs) and Unmanned Undersea Vehicles/Vessels (UUVs). UxVs and unmmaned systems (UxSs) are expanding to multiple ship classes within the U.S. Navy fleet. This contract will support the design, engineering and implementation of UxSs across the U.S. Navy portfolio.
Responsibilities
This Human Systems Integration Engineer will integrate human considerations into the engineering of Unmanned Systems (UxSs) within PMS 406's portfolio, dealing with the application of information on physical and psychological characteristics to the design of devices and systems for human use, with the objective to reduce total ownership cost while optimizing total mission performance. This HSI Engineer will conduct integrated and comprehensive analysis, design and assessment of requirements, concepts and resources across seven domains of manpower, personnel, training, human factors engineering, habitability, survivability, and environment, occupational health and safety.
Washington, D.C. Pay Range: 120-155k.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in Government-related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs, at least 7 of which are relevant HSI engineering experience
- Top Secret Security Clearance
- Master of Science (MS) Degree from recognized engineering curriculum (examples include: ME / EE / IE / CSE), OR MS Degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that includes 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics (examples include: Applied Math, Applied Physics, Operational Research, Modeling and Simulation, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Naval Architecture)
