DoD Cloud Account Executive - Cloud Service Providers (Department of Defense)

Position Overview: The Senior Account Executive will play a critical role in managing and nurturing strategic relationships with major cloud service providers to deliver innovative and scalable solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD). This role requires a dynamic individual with deep knowledge of cloud technologies, federal government operations, and a proven ability to drive business growth in a highly regulated environment. The Senior Account Executive will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring alignment between the cloud service providers and the mission-critical needs of the DoD.

What You Will Be Doing

Strategic Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders at cloud service providers and within the DoD.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and cloud partners for DoD initiatives.

Solution Delivery:
  • Collaborate with cloud service providers to design, propose, and implement tailored cloud solutions that address the unique needs of the DoD.
  • Ensure solutions comply with federal regulations, security requirements, and DoD-specific standards.

Revenue Growth:
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities within the DoD's cloud adoption strategy.
  • Develop and execute account plans that align with the company's business objectives and the DoD's priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, legal, and compliance, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between the DoD, cloud service providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve challenges and optimize processes.

Market Expertise:
  • Stay current with industry trends, federal policies, and emerging technologies to position the company as a thought leader in cloud solutions for the DoD.
  • Provide insights and feedback to internal teams to enhance offerings and stay ahead of market demands.

Contract Negotiation and Management:
  • Lead negotiations on agreements, ensuring mutual value for the company, cloud service providers, and the DoD.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with all terms and conditions.

What you Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably within the federal government sector.
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Experience working with or within the Department of Defense, with knowledge of its procurement processes and requirements.
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component, that together comprise the On-Target Earnings (OTE). On-Target Earnings (OTE) are based on a 50/50 pay mix (base salary / target variable).

The typical starting OTE range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest OTE we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.

An employee's position within the OTE range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program. Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

The typical starting salary range for this role is:

$113,300 - $180,000 USD

The typical starting Target Variable range for this role is:

$113,200 - $180,000 USD

The typical starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is:

$226,500 - $360,000 USD
