Summary:
The Chief Engineer provides technical vision and leadership for the assigned platform/product line, focusing on unmanned aircraft systems. This role involves facilitating communication and synergy across multiple projects, developing and maintaining the technical roadmap, and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. The Chief Engineer is accountable for the technical lifecycle direction and serves as the technical lead for proposal efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the overarching technical lead on unmanned aircraft systems
Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for the platform/product line
Support business development and program management as the lead technical contact
Ensure project design implementation aligns with the platform/product line vision
Facilitate communication with project engineers and upper management
Direct and collaborate with project engineers to develop solutions to customer requirements
Act as the overriding design authority for the product, including new development and enhancements
Assist with setting priorities and defining roles and responsibilities
Provide mentorship and support to project engineers
Lead failure analysis and root cause investigation
Foster ethical conduct and personal integrity within the engineering team

Required Certifications/Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or science discipline (Master’s degree preferred)

Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000

Office, field, and/or manufacturing environment
Potential exposure to uncontrolled climate conditions, noise, dust, and hazardous chemicals
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive motions
Ability to stand and sit for long periods
