Job Description
5-D Systems, a KRATOS Company, is a growing defense contractor headquartered in Round Rock, TX with over twenty years' experience providing systems and software engineering for Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Systems Engineering Technical Support to Government Program Offices.
5-D Systems, a KRATOS Company, is seeking a highly motivated candidate in support of our customer located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, who will serve as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer as part of a diverse, highlight-skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems.
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will be a key member of a team performing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Equipment and Software Cybersecurity Systems Engineering along with key functions supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for tactical systems. A background in Agile and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is required.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Providing accurate technical evaluations of the FMS equipment, software applications, full system, or network and documenting the security posture, capabilities, and vulnerabilities against applicable NIST controls
• Making Confluence and Jira updates regarding the Poland Phase 2 project and additional projects after completion
• Designing, interpreting, and building models within MagicDraw/Cameo
• Selecting and implementing security controls, timely completion of accreditation packages, formulating and implementing mitigations and maintaining the security posture of systems
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating system security threats/risks throughout a system's lifecycle, validating system security requirements, formulating and maintaining documentation and system certification and accreditation activities (planning, testing, assessing and coordinating)
• Leading cybersecurity process/tool improvements
• Monitoring and evaluating a system's compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security, resilience, and dependability requirements including performing validation steps, comparing actual results with expected results and analyze the differences to identify impact and risks at the software application, system, and network levels.
• Working with the team to provide solutions and to ensure continued functionality of systems within DoD RMF Framework
• Additional duties as assigned
Experience and Skills
• US Citizen
• A Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain
• Bachelor's (required) or Master's (preferred) degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity
• Sec+ or higher certification
• Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and NIST security controls
• Experience with Confluence and Jira (Scrum Master or Product Owner experience is a plus)
• Experience with MBSE tools MagicDraw/Cameo
• Experience in a DoD security environment
• Knowledge of information system architecture and standards as they apply to cybersecurity
• Ability to travel (estimated around 25% per year)
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment supporting a diverse customer base comprised of program managers, engineers, analysts, specialists, and technicians
• Strong attention to detail
