Synchron has an exciting opportunity for a part-time manager overseeing the OPNAV Requirements Manager (RM) Course. The course is taught one week a month and requires support for the oversight, planning, organization, and management of each course. The part-time manager will be responsible for everything from overseeing the four instructors who provide the majority of the class instruction to interacting with the Flag, SES, and other speakers who present to the OPNAV RM Course each month.
The work is a hybrid model with the planning and administration being done offsite and then selected days onsite during the week of course instruction. The OPNAV RM Course is targeted at incoming OPNAV Requirements Officers (RO)s in order to accelerate their knowledge of the JCIDS And PPBE processes. The OPNAV RM Course is for ROs of all levels, to include military personnel, their Department of Defense (DoD) civilian counterparts, and contractors who are on (or closely supporting) the OPNAV staff.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and management to ensure the OPNAV RM Course is taught in a seminar environment using lecture discussion, interactive methods, case study analysis, and writing exercises.
Laise with course presenters and their front office staffs for presentations and scheduling activities.
Work with the course instructors to ensure lesson materials and content are updated on a regular basis and are high quality.
Meet with the OPNAV Government personnel who oversee the OPNAV RM Couse to ensure alignment with OPNAV priorities.
As needed, provide feedback to RM Course stakeholders so they are aware of any changes to course content and schedules.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Secret level clearance.
10+ Years of related experience
Prior Navy and OPNAV experience is highly preferred
Experience working with Flag / SES front office staffs
Experience with, and an understanding of the JCIDS and PPBE processes
The ability to work remotely as needed for oversight and management purposes
Must be able to work onsite for certain days of the week when the course is being taught (Synchron HQ across from the Washington Navy Yard and also at the Pentagon)
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
This position is part-time (approximately ¼ time with the potential for up to ½ time)
None to limited travel is expected.
