Software Engineer
Location: National Business Park, MD

Salary Range: $175,000 - $195,000 annually
Position Overview:
DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems. This role involves working on processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, real-time systems, and the manipulation of large data sets. You will have the opportunity to lead software development teams, design innovative solutions, and contribute to mission-critical projects that directly impact national security.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
Debug existing software, resolve defects, and optimize system performance.
Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
Develop and execute test procedures for software components, ensuring adherence to design.
Write and review software and system documentation for clarity and accuracy.
Develop algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and assess performance capabilities.
Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
Provide technical leadership for multiple software development teams.
Select appropriate software development processes and ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
Recommend and implement new technologies and processes for complex software projects.
Oversee and delegate programming and testing responsibilities to ensure successful project completion.
Core Skills:
Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Java microservices development.
Expertise in designing and implementing complex algorithms and database interfaces.
Experience with developing software systems for processing-intensive analytics, real-time operations, and large data manipulation.
Proven ability to analyze system flow, data usage, and work processes to identify and resolve problem areas.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 20+ years as a Software Engineer (SWE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Note: An additional 4 years of software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated experience leading software development teams and delivering quality solutions.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with modern software design methodologies and tools.
Experience with system integration and large-scale software deployments.
Strong background in optimizing software for high-performance systems.
