CACI has an opportunity for Operations Floor Systems/Network Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SME) to support the USAF Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This position works at the customer on-site Tier 3 support location at Shaw Air Force Base, SC. This is a shift work position in a work center providing 24x7x365 support.

Shaw AFB is conveniently located. A 2-hour drive to the north gets you to Charlotte, NC, to the east is Myrtle Beach, and Charleston, SC is to the south. You'll have access to big city excitement, a quiet beach walk or small-town Southern hospitality.

You'll get to use leading edge technology as you sustain and defend the networks our Air Force warfighters use in the CENTCOM theater. Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Operations section/shift lead and provide 24/7 Tier 2 enterprise IT help desk support.
  • Troubleshoot escalated complex systems/network hardware, software, and services problems.
  • Document processes and logic diagrams for regularly accomplished tasks on the NOSC operations floor as well as processes used by support technicians.
  • Research and analyze network topology via NOSC automated toolsets and a myriad of networking metrics to ascertain connectivity, topology, and status to recognize sub-standard network performance.
  • Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents.
  • Use the Firewall toolset to accurately analyze and report on the overall health of local and deployed firewalls. Perform enterprise-level firewall fault isolation and correction to include troubleshooting ACLs affecting other network traffic. Perform local installation, and local and remote administration of firewalls.
  • Develop and maintain training plans for operations floor positions. Mentor and train operations personnel on new system installations and operating application upgrades.
  • Develop and review detailed or complex technical documents. Provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision makers.
  • You may also have an opportunity to deploy/travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR to support operations, projects, and training as required (up to 10%).


Qualifications/ Required:
  • B.S. degree in related field and 5 years' relevant IT experience OR 7 years' relevant IT experience; AND
  • Unix/Linux, Firewall and HBSS experience.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience:

a. Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server 2012 using server images; Experience with implementation of storage solutions, window containers, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.

b. Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with managing Microsoft users and permissions, creating active directory domain services (AD DS) forests, designing server infrastructure, troubleshooting networks, and protecting network and user data.
  • VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) and CCNA certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation certification within 60 days of start date.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$73,900 - $155,200
