DevSecOps Engineer

Location: HYBRID - must live in San Diego but this is primarily a REMOTE role. Will only go to Navy/Marine Corps client site when required.
Duration: temp to hire after 9 months

Reason for Opening: They have a really good Sr. DevOps/Pipeline Engineer on the team right now (named Tony), but he is getting pulled to other programs so they need another resource who can focus on the R2i program needs.

OVERVIEW
The program is called Rapid Response Innovation (R2i). It is just one of the task orders under a larger contract that G2 Software is a prime contract holder (C2 Technology and Experimentation).
• This particular R2i task order work is driven by MARCORSYSCOM who gives funding to NIWC PAC to do Marine Corps tactical applications (kind of like an incubator sandbox for new applications).
• G2 Software has had this work since 2006 - Needless to say, this work is very stable -  even upon recompete there's a very low chance that G2 Software would lose the work to someone else.
• There are approx.12 people on this task order

ROLE DESCRIPTION
• DevSecOps resource will support a dynamic US Marine Corps application development, integration, and deployment team
• Strong Linux systems administration skills with professional systems analyst experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining complex IT infrastructures in support of dynamic national security applications, while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.

As a DevSecOps Engineer at G2 Software Systems, you will be a critical player in designing, implementing, and maintaining a modern USMC tactical data integration architecture in support of vital Marine Corps operations. Your expertise in Linux systems administration, network engineering, and complex integration architectures will help our team implement a capable, secure, containerized application development, test, and integration environment, making a meaningful impact on national defense.

JOB DUTIES
• Support DOD software and systems engineering development and integration activities as a systems analyst.
• Help engineer a modern multi-organization software architecture, development, Test/QA, and integration laboratory.
• Support a rich, multi-container service architecture using cutting edge software packages including OpenShift for DOD Cloud deployments.
• Work with developers, DevSecOps pipeline engineers, QA/Test Automation Engineers, and cybersecurity professionals to implement and maintain a robust, secure application development and integration environment.
• Investigate and troubleshoot client, server, and network problems/issues.
• Prepare, coordinate, and review professional documentation describing the application infrastructure and deployment pipelines, including supporting the creation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts.
• Support DOD certification and accreditation (C&A) processes through proper adherence to information security, including the current Risk Management Framework (RMF), to ensure proper system cybersecurity configuration management.

SKILLS
• 7+ years experience minimum overall IT experience (with 3+ years supporting federal government IT networks and application environments)
• Must have strong Systems Administration (Windows & Linus) / DevOps experience supporting application development teams (must have Linux experience).
• VMware/Virtualized environments - strong background in virtualized environments
• DevOps and Automation experience – understanding of tools such as Docker, GitHub, Openshift, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab runners, build scripts, JIRA integration, AzureDevops, CI/CD,  etc. 
• DevSecOps - understanding of DevSecOps pipeline tools and technologies (i.e. SonarQube, etc.
• Cybersecurity - strong knowledge of cyber, network, application, and information security best practices.

CERTIFICATIONS
• Security+ (ability to obtain within 60 days)
• Linux+ (ability to obtain within 60 days)
• Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain interim clearance)
