We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on support for VMware infrastructure and virtualization solutions. This role requires in-depth knowledge of VMware products and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and NSX.
• Provide expert guidance on virtualization best practices and VMware product deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex VMware environment issues.
• Optimize performance and scalability of VMware infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for VMware environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud integration and data center operations.
• Evaluate and recommend new VMware technologies and tools to enhance system performance and security.
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions using VMware technologies.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis for virtual environments.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware solutions, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and NSX.
• VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or VCDX preferred.
• Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and server infrastructure.
• Experience with VMware Cloud solutions and hybrid cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerCLI, Python, Ansible).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
