About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Remote Database Architect to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. We are seeking a forward-thinking Database Architect Engineer to contribute to the analytics and management of data solutions. The engineer would be responsible for maintaining data quality, developing data models & inferred analytics, and will contribute to the management of the data infrastructure.

What You'll Do:
Plans and installs upgrades of database management system software to enhance database performance. Demonstrates database technical functionality, such as performance, security and reliability. Identify and correct deviations from database development standards. Creates and enforces database development standards. Sets up database clusters, backup, or recovery processes. Documents and communicates database schemas, using accepted notations. Develops or maintains archived procedures, procedural codes, or queries for applications. Develops load-balancing processes to eliminate down time for backup processes. Develops data models for applications, metadata tables, views or related database structures. Tests changes to database applications or systems. Provides technical support to junior staff or clients. Identifies, evaluates and recommends hardware or software technologies to achieve desired database performance. Monitors and reports systems resource consumption trends to assure production systems meet availability requirements and hardware enhancements are scheduled appropriately. Designs databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability. Designs database applications, such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, global temporary tables, data partitions, and function-based indexes to enable efficient access of the generic database structure. Collaborates with system architects, software architects, design analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements. Develops database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements. Develops and documents database architectures.

- Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. Will need to have secret clearance already for this position. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)

Must Have:
- 10 years Data Analysis
- 10 years Databasing (SQL or NoSQL)
- 5 years R, Python, SQL, and Machine Language Algorithms and Data Analysis.
- 8 years System Analysis
- Bachelor's Degree
- Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
- 2 years GIT/GITHUB
