Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking a full-time Supervisory General Engineer (Deputy Test IPT Lead) 009771091M to work in the Long-Range Standoff (LRSO) Cruise Missile Program Office, Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division, Eglin AFB FL.
This position is a NH-0801-04 which has a typical 2024 salary range of $ $124,531 to $190,424 (includes locality).
May be eligible for a group retention incentive.
This position is not eligible for full time or remote telework. Situational telework is at the discretion of the hiring manager.
DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the LRSO cruise missile program office's Deputy Test IPT Lead within the Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division. The incumbent will work in conjunction with program stakeholders, Department of Energy, and MAJCOM partners to manage ground and flight test planning and execution efforts. The incumbent will ensure test objectives are accomplished successfully, on-time, safely, and advise program leadership of current test enterprise status and risk.
SKILLS:
- Extensive background in US Air Force weapon system development, including ground and flight testing of weapon systems.
- Subject matter expertise in complex test design, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Knowledge of DoD test facilities and Air Force Test Center operations.
- Ability to successfully lead and supervise people in mission-focused team environment.
- Knowledge of DoD risk management and test safety planning processes.
- Demonstrate experience in acquisition of nuclear weapon systems and/or conventional weapon systems.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to assess test requirements and provide information, expertise, and assistance to satisfy those needs.
- Ability to determine test objectives, make sound risk-based decisions, set priorities, and successfully accomplish organizational goals.
- Ability to provide technical and cost analysis information to LRSO leadership on current and projected test efforts, through highly effective written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- U.S. CITIZENSHIP
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant test experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in Air Force acquisition system process.
- Required Tenure of 3 years.
- This position has been designated an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
- Advanced technical degree and professional military education are highly desired.
- Graduate of a DoD Test Pilot School is highly desired.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
- This is a drug testing position.
