Duties and Responsibilities:
- Address and resolve operational issues with Linux systems
- Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a system's life cycle to the end
- Oversee complex infrastructure, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Develop solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems
- Automate recurring operational tasks and processes
- Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
- Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology
- May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of related systems administration experience
- Strong Linux system administration experience
- Troubleshooting skills for operational issues
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Automation experience
Preferred Experience:
- HPE High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Ansible
- Operational support experience
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Panasas storage platform
- GitLab
