Plumber - Journeyman

Amentum is seeking aPlumber - Journeyman to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Please note this is for a future requirement coming available within the next couple of months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installs, connects, and tests plumbing fixtures.
• Monitors and troubleshoots major plumbing breakdowns by diagnosing and repairing or replacing systems.
• Determines the routing of pipe and location of such plumbing fixtures, accessories, and equipment such as vent pipes, meters, gauges, hangers, brackets, and water, sewage, gas, and air connections.
• Provides technical guidance and direction to lower-level staff to ensure accuracy or work and adherence to guidelines.
• Provides schedule of preventative maintenance of plumbing systems.
• Backflow prevention installation and inspections and testing and maintenance.
• Performs duties as security escort as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of plumbing experience.
• Journeyman plumber certification required.
• Experience working with backflow prevention inspection, testing, and maintenance certification.
• Ability to use wrenches, pipe-cutters, threading tools, metal saws, and pressure equipment.
• Must be able to work in manholes and ditches and confined spaces.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid U.S. passport will be required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journeyman's Plumbing license with residential and commercial plumbing experience.
