Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated Qlik Technical Trainer

About the job:
We are looking for a Qlik Technical Trainer. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs on the Qlik data analytics platform, equipping individuals with the skills to effectively utilize Qlik Sense and other Qlik tools for data visualization, analysis, and reporting, covering foundational concepts through advanced functionalities, while tailoring the curriculum to different learner levels and business needs within an organization; often including hands-on exercises, case studies, and assessments to ensure practical application and competency development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development:
Create structured training materials, including presentations, courseware, and practice exercises, covering all aspects of Qlik functionality, from data loading and transformation to advanced visualizations and dashboard design.
  • Technical Expertise:
Possess in-depth knowledge of Qlik Sense interface, data modeling, data load script, expressions, visualizations, security settings, and administration functions.
  • Delivery of Training Sessions:
Lead live, instructor-led training sessions, both in-person and online, effectively explaining complex concepts, demonstrating features, and facilitating interactive learning experiences.
  • Adapting to Audience Needs:
Tailor training content and delivery style to cater to diverse learner levels, from beginner to advanced users, considering their specific business roles and data analysis requirements.
  • Hands-on Exercises and Assessments:
Design practical, real-world scenarios and exercises to enable participants to apply learned skills in a hands-on environment, incorporating assessments to gauge progress and comprehension.
  • Staying Updated:
Continuously monitor new Qlik features, updates, and best practices to ensure training content remains relevant and aligned with the latest technology advancements.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Work closely with internal teams in an Agile environment, implementation consultants, and subject matter experts, to understand client needs and incorporate appropriate training elements.

Preferred skills:
  • Technical Skills:
Proficient in Qlik Sense, or another Business Intelligence tool (Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc.), strong understanding of data analysis concepts, data manipulation techniques, SQL knowledge, and familiarity with various data sources.
  • Training Delivery Skills:
Excellent presentation and communication skills, ability to engage learners, facilitate discussions, and answer technical questions effectively.
  • Instructional Design:
Experience in developing training materials, creating engaging course structure, and incorporating effective learning methodologies.
  • Problem-solving:
Capability to diagnose and troubleshoot learners' technical issues during training sessions, providing clear explanations and solutions.

About you:
  • Security Clearance:
US Citizen, located in the US. Preference given to applicants in Norfolk, VA or Denver, CO. Have an Active DoD Security Clearance. Consideration will also be given to US Citizens living or able to relocate to Yokosuka or Sasebo, Japan.
  • Travel:
Travel required 25% of the time.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000
