Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Sustainment Test and Evaluation Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO (on-site). You will support a MILSATCOM Program Management Office (PMO) within the US Space Force's (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC) at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. As a Sustainment Test and Evaluation Engineer with MTSI, you will support a MILSATCOM Program Management Office (PMO) within the US Space Force's (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC) at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We are looking for an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to provide test and evaluation and terminal operations on a diverse set of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure.
The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force's Space and Missiles System Center. We support the Air Force's acquisition of state of the art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $85,000/year to $100,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job- related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support of the Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS) module dependencies for test design, detailed test procedure development, test execution, and reporting.
- Use extensive MPSS experience and expertise to translate and apply knowledge of the suite of MPSS application modules' to sustainment test design, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, troubleshooting, and deficiency analysis.
- Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications.
- Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships.
- 10+ years of experience with test processes and documentation.
- 4+ years of experience with MPSS, equipment, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment.
- Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
- Travel: approximately 20%.
Qualifications Desired:
- 3+ years of experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices.
- International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (i.e. ASEP, CSEP, ESEP).
- Experience with working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment.
- Specific experience operating or maintaining the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical disciplines from an accredited university, Desired.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an Active TS clearance to start.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
