Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an Operations Analyst/Service Delivery Administrator to support our Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector on the Defense Travel System (DTS) program. Candidate will be part of the Service Continuity (Service Delivery) Team that provides operational service for the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Travel System (DTS). The team also coordinates with CM and Development for application releases, and coordinates with the Hosting Services Team to support monthly maintenance activities. The position is mainly a telework position with occasional on site/office work in Herndon, VA
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain Common Access Card (CAC); Reference Qualifications section for Certification Requirements.

Responsibilities

What you will do
- Support Production services (after government access is approved)
- Provide support as part of the Service Continuity team (until production access is obtained)
- Support tasks in LAB environment for training, data load validations, and Splunk Support for releases
- Provide 24x7x365 Operational Support for a DoD Application.
- Support on call after hours and weekend (weekly rotations) in addition to day-to-day tasks
- Provide operational support by creating, maintaining, and executing scripts and processes used to facilitate service delivery.
- Conduct system and application morning (daily) checks and continuous checks throughout the day to ensure everything is operational.
- Report Daily Checks issue/incidents in JIRA tickets (create, modify, maintain, and resolve)
- Provide continuous monitoring of the system and as exceptions occur, evaluate and determine the best course of action to correct the problem in accordance with standard operating procedures, policies, and using your own judgment.
- Support Application shut down, start-up, and validations for daily system checks, incident response procedures, and monthly Hosting Services Maintenance patching cycles and support release deployments, when applicable
- Manage Incident Reports: Create, modify, and maintain incident reports, tracking service anomalies, root cause analysis and resolution and communicate with the appropriate teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Act as the primary liaison and provide communications between the Travel Assistance Center and other external partners for system degradations, scheduled maintenance, or unscheduled events.
- Provide collaboration with the Hosting Services team as well as other program teams. Continuous communications with the team to ensure no overlap and that tasks are being addresses and prioritized.
- Perform trend analysis and review past incidents to determine patterns and ways to improve processes or prevent future occurrences. Collect data and update/maintain operations metric data
- Perform routine data loads using defined procedures and collect/post evidence
- Support Junior level administrators/technicians to provide guidance where necessary
- Create, modify, and maintain appropriate system documentation including standard operational procedures/instructions and knowledgebase for triaging the operational service.
- Create and maintain work tickets and ensure Work Tickets are worked in a timely manner, completed/implemented successfully and the work tickets are updated appropriately
- Work independently or as a member of a team on complex tasks
- Provide support to the Hosting Services Manager to assist with weekly status and monthly status/metrics briefing material and occasionally briefing the slides
- 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
- Must be U.S. Citizen
- Must have ability to obtain public trust
- A minimum of 5 years, experience working as a technical lead or a leadership role
- Hands-on/working experience with the Defense Travel System (DTS) application as an Organization Administrator (other than just a traveler)
- Hands-on/working experience with performing root cause/problem resolution.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow processes and procedures for starting up, shutting down applications and perform User Interface (front end) validations and backend system checks
- Demonstrate the ability to clearly articulate and communicate (communication skills both verbally and written)
- Hands-on/working experience with Monitoring Tools (e.g. Splunk Enterprise)
- Experience working with Microsoft "TEAMS" (collaboration)
- Experience working with Microsoft Office/Office 365 (word, excel)
- Ability to manage assigned tasks, team tasks and create/maintain tasks as needed
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers and development teams (clearly communicate for operational efficiency).
- Highly driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently, team collaboration, handle stressful situations, prioritize workload and tasks and schedules
- Must have a current (not expired) Security+ CE certification or equivalent Security certification (one of the following) -or- obtain within 3 months after hire.
- Must have one of the following (NOT expired) - Or obtain within 3 months after start.
- CompTIA Linux+
- Linux LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 certification
- CompTIA Server+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Higher
- CompTIA ITF+ (IT Foundations)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on/working experience with Splunk tool (administrative)
- Hands-on/working experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Ability to efficiently communicate with government customers.
- Experience with team building and teamwork
- Experience with strategizing, researching technology, and advisory on IT procurements/purchases to provide program efficiencies
