Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Data Engineer to support US 4th Infantry Division with data science services, including data collection, analysis, statistical modeling, and the development of data-driven visualization and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Tasks include:

• Develop and maintain division dashboards and scorecards
• Execute division data projects with subordinate unit and staff cross functional teams
• Work with division data team to develop and deliver data literacy program across the division
• Work with staff for data governance - establish standards and methods for collecting, storing, and analyzing data across the organization
• Work with staff for data security - establish tools and procedures for safely storing and accessing data within Army and DoD guidelines

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
• Able to translate proposed processes into corresponding automated data pipelines to ensure the right data is available to supported teams at the right location and format
• Provide technical contributions to Elasticsearch, Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Python-based ETL data processing pipelines and data quality monitoring
• Create, modify, and automate production-grade ETL pipelines and data monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Logstash
• Communicate with other data and machine learning engineers about combining compressed, JSON, parquet, database, and data lake-based datasets into a cohesive dataset capable of facilitating processes
• Develop/implement solutions that leverage Microsoft Power Platform tools to automate processes and create reporting mechanisms. Develop and maintain Power BI solutions to visualize metrics defined by stakeholders

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
