Job Description: IT - Network Engineer
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT - Network Engineer to join our team and
support the Sponsor’s office in building and operating a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure.
This infrastructure supports COTS, GOTS, and custom applications, and is essential to the
success of the Sponsor’s operations. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in the
architecture, engineering, implementation, and operation of infrastructure components, including
network, storage, and computer systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in
network engineering, digital forensics, and the ability to support both network systems and
forensic application development.
Responsibilities:
Network Engineering Support:
o Assist with the continuous monitoring of IT systems to sustain Sponsor
accreditation.
o Coordinate engineering projects, performing technical risk assessments and
resolving technical conflicts.
o Deploy and maintain network systems, ensuring optimal performance.
o Diagnose network issues and follow troubleshooting procedures for restoration.
o Gather performance metrics and proactively inform the Sponsor when defined
thresholds are met.
o Guide network engineering efforts in hardware, software, and virtual
infrastructure.
o Maintain up-to-date network topology diagrams.
o Perform moderately complex network designs and upgrades.
o Provide Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, including
virtual servers, desktops, and automation solutions.
o Plan network configurations to ensure effective integration and optimal
performance.
o Prepare technical proposals and provide system documentation for security
managers.
o Review user requests for upgrades, assessing their impact on network
performance.
o Shepherd and perform engineering efforts in Windows, Linux servers,
workstations, storage, and virtualization.
Forensic Support and System Integration:
, o Provide end-to-end support for field network and forensic capabilities.
o Support network lifecycle stages, including design, configuration, testing,
deployment, and maintenance.
o Provide 24/7 on-call technical support to worldwide users.
o Prepare SOPs and other documentation to support the success of field users and
the program.
o Provide technical support for COTS forensic applications, ensuring data integrity
and enhancing business insights.
o Research and recommend systems, equipment, and technologies to improve
existing systems.
o Use application deployment guides to determine optimal IT infrastructure
components for application deployment.
Required Skills:
1. Proven experience analyzing systems and identifying corrective actions and
improvements.
2. Strong experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting gold image hard drives.
3. Experience coordinating and performing security testing.
4. Expertise in creating network topology diagrams.
5. Strong Cisco routing and switching experience.
6. Experience implementing L2 and L3 VPN across MPLS networks.
7. Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and configuring Aspera Enterprise Server
and Aspera P2P.
8. Experience with configuration and management of automation solutions.
9. Expertise with Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) and vRealize Suite.
10. Experience with virtual network and server management, including VMware vCenter and
VMware NSX-T.
11. Strong experience with Hypervisor deployments.
12. Expertise in forensic software, such as Cellebrite, XRY, FTK, and Autopsy.
13. Knowledge of Gateway Redundancy Protocols (HSRP, VRRP).
14. Experience with network IP address management.
15. Familiarity with network security protocols like firewalls and ACLs.
16. Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
17. Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools.
18. Experience in LAN and WAN environments.
19. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, IP subnets, and routing protocols.
20. Experience in engineering, administering, and troubleshooting Linux servers and virtual
infrastructure.
21. Hands-on experience in VMware virtualization infrastructure engineering.
22. Experience performing risk analysis for proposed IT infrastructure changes.
23. Experience in system monitoring and fault analysis.
24. Vendor management for system troubleshooting.
Desired Skills:
