The Boeing Company's Specialized United States Infrastructure organization is currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join the team in Hazelwood, MO.
This role is centered on delivering technical leadership and project support for strategic, enterprise-level hosting environments, primarily catering to initiatives within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business unit.
An ideal candidate will recognize the value of collaboration, as this position involves direct engagement with program customers and the Information Technology operations team to manage and support operations, sustainment, and integration activities for proprietary customer programs.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Position Responsibilities:
Build and maintain information systems in compliance with Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG)/Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements, including hardware and software installation, network configuration, and troubleshooting
Administer RedHat 7 and higher environments, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct monthly server patching
Utilize vulnerability scanners like Automated Configuration Accountability System (ACAS)/Nessus and manage distributed file systems
Maintain and organize the server room and data center, ensuring proper installation, tidy cabling, spare parts management, and inventory updates
Document the existing environment, including server inventory, operating systems, connectivity diagrams, and create standard operating procedures for system administration tasks
Mentor junior team members and provide leadership, while diagnosing and resolving performance issues related to central processing unit (CPU), memory, and disk
Open support tickets with vendors for system component failures, coordinate downtime with application owners, and perform necessary replacements
Provide day-to-day support for ticket requests, including Data Network Service (DNS) entries, filesystem storage increases, user account requests, and performance tuning
Support the backup environment through software upgrades, daily log reviews, and failure resolution to ensure smooth operations

RMF compliant with a Security+ certificate or obtain certification within first 6 months
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher
5+ years of experience with RedHat-based systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Fedora) and SUSE distro 12 or greater (e.g., DataDomain, vProxy)
5+ years of experience in designing and implementing IT security systems, troubleshooting operating system and installation issues, and administering user system access to meet network security requirements
3+ years of experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware, and managing virtualized environments, as well as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux-based systems and desktop operating systems.
Experience with iLOs and applying RMF guidelines for compliance, along with using metrics to measure project performance for quality delivery
Experience with Linux file structures and
Experience with developing PowerShell and Linux scripts for hardware integration, automating OS deployment and configuration, and creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers
