Cloud Software Engineer

Overview

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking multiple skill levels of Cloud Software Engineer to join our team in the Ft Meade, MD or San Antonio, TX area in support of a government organization essential to U.S. national security. You will Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services to include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution. An active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph is required .

Responsibilities

As a Cloud Software Engineer with MTSI you will support of a government organization essential to U.S. national security. This position will be in located in the Ft. Meade, MD or or San Antonio, TX area. You will Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services to include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution. An active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph is required .

Your essential job functions will include but will not be limited to:

Skill Level 1 (4 + years of relevant work experience )

• (U//FOUO) Design, implement, integrate and test new features and capabilities for cloud native service offerings. (U//FOUO) Conduct containerization and container deployment training sessions, which include hands-on software configuration and programming exercises. (U//FOUO) Develop API-based interfaces to support search and presentation of operational data. (U) Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements. (U) Debug existing software and correct defects. (U) Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards. (U) Design and code new software and modify existing software to add new features. (U) Integrate existing software into new systems, modified systems, and operating environments. (U) Develop simple data queries for existing databases, proposed databases, and data repositories. (U) Write and review software and system documentation. (U) Design and implement complex database and data repository interfaces/queries. (U) Develop and implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards. (U) Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components. (U) Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users and system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas. (U) Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, and improve its performance. (U) Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. (U) Apply concepts to develop, test, and maintain, high-performance, innovative cloud-based applications. (U) Provide cloud technologies, techniques and tools (e.g., containerization, container orchestration, data integration pipelines, provisioning automation, monitoring, application management, and function based (such as server-less) technologies). (U) Apply configuration management concepts and software development best practices.

Skill Level 2 (8+ years of relevant work experience )

All of the relevant work experience in SKILL Level 2 plus the following:

• (U//FOUO) Design, implement, integrate and test new features and capabilities for cloud native service offerings. Qualifications

Skill Level 1

• 4+ and 8+ years experience as a TE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• The following Cloud domain experiences are required:
  • One (1) year of experience with implementing code that interacts with implementation of Cloud Distributed File System.
  • One (1) year of experience with implementing architectures that support complex MapReduce analytics.
  • One (1) year of experience with implementing code that interacts with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.

Qualifications Desired:

• N/A

Education Requirements:

Skill Level 1

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science or related discipline) from an accredited college or university and four ( 4) years of relevant cloud domain experience.
• Master's degree in relevant discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of relevant experience reducing the requirement to two (2) years of Cloud domain experience.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional four (4) years of cloud domain experience may be substituted for total of eight (8) years.

Skill Level 2

Certifications Requirements:

One of the following certifications may be substituted for one (1) year of Cloud experience:

• Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer.
• CompTIA Cloud Plus (Cloud+)
• AWS
• Microsoft Azure

Clearance Requirements:

• TS/SCI clearance and CI Polygraph with eligibility for Full Scope Polygraph.
• Active Full Scope Polygraph, (Desired).
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
