Job Description:
Provide tactical network design support to Naval Information Warfare Center - Pacific (NIWC-PAC), including Navy Tactical Airborne Networks (USNTAN) engineering services, and development of future USNTAN design.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Tactical Airborne Network architectures and data sets
- Engineer solutions for PMW-160 Automated Digital Network System (ADNS)
- Design, develop, test, install and maintain multiple USNTANs
- Maintain the San Diego commercial satellite communications test facility ("Test Access Point Name (APN)" in a high state of readiness to support over-the-air Inmarsat communications tests from Boeing and other primary airframe integrators
- Engineer solutions compatible with the design baseline for the AN/USQ-144K(v)1 ADNS Increment III shore network, particularly as it affects satellite communications for supported aircraft
- Collaborate with other NAVAIR-sponsored project engineers at NIWC-PAC, particularly on those matters that affect the design, operation and modernization of critical network infrastructure shared by multiple manned and unmanned air platforms
- Participate in technical reviews and provide analysis of proposed changes to the USNTANs hardware and software baselines
- Provide engineering assistance to Aircraft Squadron Personnel and Boeing Factory Representatives
Required Qualifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification
- Cisco CCNA certification
- Three years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer:
- Experience deploying new network capabilities with a strong preference of experience working with Airborne or Navy Tactical Networks (ADNS, UCLASS, MQ-25A, STACC)
- Delivering systems engineering artifacts to include L2/L3 Network Diagrams, L1 Cabling Diagrams, Network Installation Guides, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA's)
- Three years of experience:
- Writing detailed functional systems requirements with measurable "pass" criteria
- Applying and mitigating DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide's (STIG's)
- Working in virtualized network development environments such as GNS3 or EVE-NG
- One year of experience designing or deploying multicast networks
- Able to perform in a heavy customer facing role with strong verbal, professional, and written skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Airborne or Navy Tactical Networks (ADNS, UCLASS, MQ-25A, STACC)
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification
- Familiarity with network scripting to include TCL and Python
- Familiarity with automated provisioning, configuration and management using Ansible
- Familiarity with the YANG data model and experience with the NETCONF and RESTCONF network management protocol Advanced routing, Telecom or Service Provider
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or seven years of additional relevant experience
- Secret or higher (TS/SCI requirement, but client will allow employee to upgrade their clearance while performing on contract)
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to: sit 70% of the time; Stand 2% of the time; Walk 5% of the time ; Use of Hands/Fingers to handle/feel 100% of the time ; Ability to communicate with government clients, product vendor and company senior management 100% of the time
- Travel for meetings required
