Position Description

A large portion of the material for translation, summarization or gisting deals with military, cyber and science and technology topics. Applicants who do not have prior experience in these areas must be willing to acquire the relevant knowledge for long-term success. Linguists for this requirement must possess excellent English skills and the ability to produce precise English translations. Candidates for the travel position will need native level Russian (5/5/5 SLR scores) and strong Ukrainian (3/3+/4 SLR scores) as well as strong interpretation skills. TDYs may last up to 90 days both CONUS and OCONUS.

Linguists must be

• Comfortable doing long technical translations.
• Willing to work anywhere in the WMA.
• Willing to go on 1-3-month TDY's to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Comfortable with assignments involving oral interpretation on various topics.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS in language relevant field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience to include
  • Translation from Russian into English.
  • Interpretation.
  • Editing translations of others.
  • Summarizing pertinent details providing an easily digestible format.
  • Providing visual representation of analysis using charts, tables, and graphs.
• Score 4/4+ or higher on translation assessment and pass speaking, listening, and reading test and interpretation test.
