Position Description

Linguists will read, triage, review, summarize and translate large amounts of data in source-language. The linguist will conduct supplementary research from foreign language sources on equipment and technologies identified. The linguist should have familiarity with tasking, data collection, and targeting. Linguists should either be a Native speaker, or a level 4 in reading. Work will be performed during ordinary hours (e.g., 8-5) in an ordinary work week (Monday-Friday). Must be able to get along in a diverse team in a fast-paced environment with high stakes outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree (U.S. or in a country of language)
2. 5+ years of professional translation experience to include the following.
   1. Translation into English.
   2. Gathering information from published and online media.
   3. Monitoring published and online media while identifying relevant content.
   4. Examining published and online media or other material closely or in a broad, searching manner.
   5. Utilizing processing plans for key media items regularly covered based upon the material selected.
   6. Collecting, vetting, and sharing word or phrase translation with context specific meaning.
   7. Assigning tasks to other and tracking tasks for completion, etc.
3. Understand and have some experience in counterproliferation and science and technology.
4. Must pass language testing with ILR 4 in translation (CM>EN) and 4+/4+/4+ in speaking, listening and reading.
