Expertise and Functions
- Work with Supply Chain Analysts to procure material in support of production requirements
- Compile and issue Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders to suppliers
- In depth data analysis to identify cost saving and cost avoidance opportunities through material procurement strategy
- Knowledge of best purchasing practices as a government contractor
- Rich knowledge of Supply Chain Management field and how it operates in a Manufacturing environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's Degree in management or other relevant discipline preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in material procurement in a manufacturing environment
- Aerospace and Defense background preferred
- Compilation and issuance of large purchase orders
- Confident in supplier negotiations
- Analytical thinker with the ability to compile and manipulate data in order to make informed business decisions
Security:
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Physical Requirements:
- Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
- Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
