Key Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
- Debug existing software and correct defects.
- Write or review software and system documentation.
- Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, and investigating problem areas.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
- Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
Required Experience
- Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. (Four (4) years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree).
- TS/SCI with Poly required to start
Desired Experience
- Experience serving as a team lead in a software development project.
- Design or implementation of complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
- Development or implementation of algorithms adhering to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints.
- Experience with DataBricks, GitLab, Jira, and Spark.
- Performance of quality control on team products.
- Experience overseeing multiple software development teams.
- Conferring with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements.
- Coordination of software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning.
