*** This role will be onsite at Camp Kinser & Okinawa, Japan area. ***

Perform fitting of assembly to be welded. Assemblies are of different material type including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Selects appropriate welding type for the job; mig, tig, or stick welding. Adjust settings on welding machines to perform weld and make adjustments as needed. Follows established quality and safety standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Welder: Pay commensurate with experience.

Welder Responsibilities Include:
  • Performs fitting of assembly
  • Operates one or more types of welding machines
  • Sets and adjusts machine settings as necessary
  • Reads and interprets blueprints to ensure proper weld locations, type of weld, dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product
  • Must follow step by step work instruction
  • Must be able to pass welding certification test to Section 4 of AWS D1.2/D1.2M Structural Welding Code.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Welder Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least six months experience.
  • Welding Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and technical descriptions.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and must be able to use an inventory system. Interpersonal skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management; basic math skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
