Instructional Systems Designer, Senior
The Opportunity:
Do you want to develop training that will transform national security? As an instructional systems designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can't have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information requires a real passion for understanding your customer's needs. We have an opportunity for an instructional systems designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in national security by crafting effective training.
On our team, you'll work with SMEs to capture your customer's training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you'll design synchronous, asynchronous, and performance support tools. Following the ADDIE model, you'll build training material with multimedia spe cia lists, graphic artists, and instructors.
You'll use your te chn ical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an e nga ging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You'll recommend cutting-edge multimedia te chn ologies and strategies, including blended learning, to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you'll meet with SMEs and instructors throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you'll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You'll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you'll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer's learning needs. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 7+ years of experience with instructional design or curriculum development
- Experience collaborating with and coordinating the efforts of military SMEs throughout the courseware development process
- Experience writing or developing instructional content for military clients
- Experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to develop lesson guides and instructor-based training materials
- Ability to create new or improved instructional products or learning solutions with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage project deliverables, including timelines, milestones, and on-time delivery with limited guidance
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience developing flying training curricula or curricula for the Remotely Piloted Aircraft ( RPA ) community, or other related military programs
- Experience advising and providing guidance to all levels of military commands and staff
- Experience with Commer cia l Off the Shelf courseware development sof tware, tools, and applications
- Knowledge of learner-centric and competency-based educational principles
- Possession of excellent analytical and critical thi nk ing skills to c ond uct research, synthesize information, and evaluate options for action
- Secret clearance
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or Education
