ASRC Federal Vistronix (ASRC Federal) is seeking a full time Cloud Systems Engineer to join our Denver-based team and provide cloud-based system support for our government customer. This role is a remote position but may require some limited domestic travel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and engineering of government systems infrastructure. The candidate will work with business sponsors and other relevant stakeholders to apply their depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of cloud development, deployment, and management, as well as partner continuously with many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goals. The ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences is very important.

Work Location: Fort Collins, CO; Reston, VA; Remote USA (near a USDA facility)

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan, design, deploy, implement, and manage Cloud-based government systems.
  • Develop and implement cloud-applications and cloud-infrastructure.
  • Assist with the migration of existing on-premises applications to the cloud, disaster recovery and the debugging of cloud stacks.
  • Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) process for cloud environments and applications
  • Support the provision and maintenance of cloud systems.
  • Monitor the performance of systems.
  • Coordinates system development tasks to include design, integration, and formal testing.
  • Oversees all transitions into production.
  • Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements, and other disciplines.
  • Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution.
  • Manages and documents system configurations.


Education and Experience:

  • 2 - 4 years' experience in systems engineering or network engineering or 6 years related experience in the absence of a degree.
  • 1-3 years' experience as a cloud engineer, including exposure to cloud technology and cloud system design
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • Experience with Management and Administration of MS Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Tier III support and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of system virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to create technical documentation to include SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure), design documents and operation manuals.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust clearance.

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of general Azure networking and security controls.
  • Knowledge of applying NIST 800-53, Rev. 5 controls to ensure Azure environments can attain and continue to be granted an Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • An understanding of cloud adoption processes and network security requirements as it relates to the interfacing of cloud and corporate resources in an enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge of and experience with DevSecOps development methodologies.
  • Experience with network designs, services, and protocols.
  • Experience of container technologies.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux Operating Systems.
  • Deploying enterprise-wide software packages.
  • Experience working in an ITIL environment.
  • Nice to have completed the following Microsoft Azure classes:
    • AZ-900 (Intro to Cloud)
    • AZ-104 (SysAdmin)
  • Prior government contracting experience preferred.
