Responsibilities
Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located in Stuttgart, Germany and requires TESA approval.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Systems Engineers perform tier three systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Systems Engineers must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of data center hardware and software. Extensive experience in areas such as systems design and implementation, systems integration, security, ports and protocols, as well as server and network infrastructure is required. Systems Engineers test and analyze elements of data center facilities, including power, software, security features, interoperability, and communications, and is responsible for the overall integration of enterprise systems. Systems Engineers are also responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management and coordination of systems solutions. They monitor and control the performance and status of systems resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting system performance. Systems Engineers keep technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government's needs. This position provides guidance and direction for junior systems support administrators, engineers and staff working on site.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing planning and engineering guidance to network planners
- Assisting with network planning for contingencies, exercises, and operations
- Creating, designing, or scripting tools and playbooks that can automate configuration processes
- Providing detailed planning of network changes to support emerging requirements
- Reviewing, editing, publishing, and maintaining documentation and diagrams of engineering and design activities in agreed upon and accepted industry standard format
- Identifying and recommending tools and processes to accomplish enterprise NetOps tasks
- Providing design and architectural recommendations for long-term/chronic problem resolution
- Assisting with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required
- Maintaining currency in applicable industry standards from bodies such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
- Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA
- 11 years of relevant experience with HS will be considered in lieu of formal education
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification
- DoD TS/SCI clearance is required for this role
- Ability to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective
- Expertise in a systems or application programming language (e.g., Java, C++)
- Expertise in web-based frameworks (e.g., Java Enterprise Edition (JEE), .NET, JavaScript, jQuery)
- Knowledge of data structures and relational database systems relevant to candidates work area (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostGres)
- Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP)
- Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Strong technical writing skills
- Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
- Advanced understanding of DNS resolution
- Advanced understanding of SSL certificates
- Advanced understanding of Windows Domain environments to include Group Policy and Active Directory
- Advanced understanding of Windows 10, 11, Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022
- Intermediate understanding of *Nix Operating Systems - RHEL 6/7/8
- Understanding of ITIL and ITSM methodology and processes
- Basic understanding of configuration management concepts, with a focus on MECM
