Responsibilities

Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a Mission Security Specialist to support the Eastern/Western Range Operational Communications Support (EWOCS) contract at Vandenberg Space Force Base (SFB), in CA.

The Mission Security Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Assists supervisor with maintaining, securing, issuing and accountability for visitor restricted area badges in support of site access duties and distinguished visitor (DV) events.
• Supports security briefings to required personnel regarding visiting/escorting MDA facilities
• Ensures construction and maintenance personnel are properly badged, are briefed on security standards and are monitored within the restricted area for conformance with all applicable security policies and regulations.
• Issues all Land Mobile Radio (LMR) units and base stations to authorized personnel.
• Contributes upkeep GMSV security databases, tracking escort training and access lists to secured rooms, security containers within the facility and GMSV photographic device permits.
• In absence of supervisor, attends all mandatory government and contractor meetings.
• Represent MDA at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for all emergency events (real world or exercise) that could possibly impact MDA facilities.
• Assists staff personnel with plans, programs, and implementation of activities which may include security, logistics, visitor control, protocol events, scheduling, and test support.
• Provides alternate convoy commander duties associated with transportation of assets.
• Generate and maintain Entry Access List (EAL) for SLD 30th for launch support and natural disasters affecting MDA critical assets.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of related experience; AA/AS degree and 2 years experience, or BS/BA degree and 0 years experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance. In order to obtain a security clearance, you must be a U.S. Citizen. An Interim Secret clearance is acceptable to start.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Be able to lift and/or move up 35 pounds.

Desired Experience

• Active/current SECRET security clearance.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
