IBS is the worldwide Department of Defense (DoD) standard network for transmitting tactical and strategic intelligence and targeting data to all levels of Joint Service operational users. MEG integrates the talents and skills of team members to form an IBS Enterprise Support Team to provide world class IBS Customer service. Joint Service and Collaborating Nations IBS Customers require 24/7 access to report and resolve issues in a timely manner to mitigate impact to operations. We serve a vital role in supporting the IBS Joint Program through technical innovation and rapid development of solutions to support end user requirements. As such, our systems and products require a high level of quality and configuration management to ensure they meet and/or exceed customer expectations.

The SATCOM Engineer is a hands-on engineering position that helps keep MEG and the IBS Program on the leading edge of over-the-air (OTA) satellite communications (SATCOM) technology. The SATCOM Engineer will provide information on upcoming changes to Integrated Waveform (IW) systems and how those modifications will impact the Common Interactive Broadcast (CIB). The duties and functions for this position include but are not limited to:

• Support IW system as IW Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide IW training materials for IBS team, to include the Global IBS Support Center (GIBSSC) Watch, Combatant Command (CCMD) Information Management Element (IME), and Common Interactive Broadcast (CIB) SMEs.

• Manage the CIB related Military Standards (MIL-STD) and coordinate changes with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

• Perform as the lead engineer for Transmission Security (TRANSEC) implementation.

• Provide Tier 3 Support, troubleshooting and developing long-term resolutions supporting broadcast engineering and network interface team specializing in IW.

• Provide engineering and SATCOM expertise in support of Polar architectures.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: • Security Clearance: MUST have a TS clearance with SCI Eligibility.

• Ten to twelve (10-12) years of intelligence and operations experience within National and/or Tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) community.

• Five (5) years of Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) experience.

• Ability to maintain a US Government security clearance.

• Bachelor's Degree or corresponding certification in engineering or related field.

Desired Experience: • Eight (8) years supporting IBS inter-Service Interoperability; understand IBS architectures of other services and Five Eyes Collaborating Nations to enable leveraging of existing capabilities to support joint and coalition warfighters.

• Eight (8) years supporting IBS message processing capabilities of various Tactical Data Processors (TDP) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers ISR (C4ISR) Automated Information Systems (AIS).

• Master's degree in computer science or engineering preferred.

• Up to date understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.

• Experience with software engineering, customer experience, and design architecture.

• Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.

• Project development and leadership skills are preferred.

• Experience developing information technology (IT) and cloud infrastructure.

• Experience in developing systems architectures and optimizing architectures for performance enhancements.

• Experience in training and briefing, with an emphasis on explaining complex technical processes to senior leaders.

• Experience with Joint Service intelligence systems and mission support.

• Team / mission success oriented.

• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
