SAIC is seeking an onsite Senior Logistician in Portsmouth, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Monitor in-house inventory movement and complete inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping purposes.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Report project plans, progress, and results.
- Maintain system and process integrity and ensure system compliance and auditability.
- Maintain supply management computer systems data.
- Prepare and maintain required forms, records, correspondence, reports, and files.
- Ability to support the planning, logistics, and execution of highly complex projects.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree and Ten (10) years or more of experience in supply support, procurement, and/or inventory management of combat system acquisition and/or life-cycle programs; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
- Experience with MS Word, Visio, and Power Point.
- Strong working knowledge of Navy - Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP).
- Familiar with US Navy Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S) policies, processes, and procedures.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Background in logistics, spare parts, or supply.
- Inventory management and document control process experience.
