Job Description:
This position will serve as an experienced Systems Engineer based out of Stuttgart in support of USAFRICOM on the Enterprise-Level IT Expertise (ELITE) Contract.
Job Responsibilities:
● Administer, manage, and support Active Directory services including user accounts, group policies, and security configurations.
● Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
● Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to streamline and automate deployment processes.
● Review, clean up, and streamline existing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to improve system performance and manageability.
● Ensure the security of Windows systems through regular updates, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.
● Develop and maintain Markdown-based guides and guidelines for server deployment, STIG remediation, GPO cleanup, and script version controlling.
● Establish and enforce policies and processes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
● Proactively monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting to
ensure system stability.
● Work closely with the engineering team, other IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems and services.
● Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Nice to have:
● Experience working on migrating SharePoint between different versions including on-premise to Microsoft 365 Cloud.
● Engineering solutions with Distributed File Services (DFS) using Windows Server
● Design and implement Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, DNS, and DHCP
● Plan and implement Active Directory upgrades and migrations
● Configure and manage Active Directory sites, subnets, and replication
● Engineer Identity solutions for authentication, authorization and auditing using ADFS
● Participate in Engineering of Zero Trust Administration solutions for the organization.
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus;
● 5+ years of experience working with Windows Systems Administration
● In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and related technologies.
● Extensive experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline automation.
● Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
● Familiarity with network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
● Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
● Knowledge of security best practices and tools.
● Proven experience in documentation and process improvement.
Certifications
● Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or
● CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
● Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or
● Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar
Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) Requirements:
Candidates MUST be eligible for Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) awarded via the
Defense Overseas Contractor Personnel (DOCPER) office. Education requirements for TESA
approval include:
● A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, or
● An Associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, or
● A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, or
● 11 years of recent, relevant, and specialized experience
