We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as aModeling and Simulation Developer, Craftsman (USSF Exercises) to work out of Schriever Space Force Base.

*Contingent Upon Award*

PAY: $144,000 - $158,500

JOB SUMMARY:

USfalcon is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Developer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron’s (392 CTS) USSF exercise support mission at Schriever SFB, CO. The 392CTS operates the organic state-of-the-art Space Wargaming Analysis, Readiness and Mission-Planner (SWARM) capability to provide space M&S for USSF exercises and mission-focused events. The M&S Developer will support exercise scenario development for USSF exercises (e.g., SPACE FLAG) by creating orbital and terrestrial models and simulations using SWARM’s internal M&S-based tools and applicable M&S tools. This position is at Schriever Space Force Based, CO, and requires on-site support

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Creates Red and Blue orbital and terrestrial models and simulations using internal STK software and applicable tools to support USSF exercises and mission-focused events.
  • Identifies gaps and shortfalls in current M&S tools, and recommends solutions to provide timely, realistic exercise capabilities.
  • Works with exercise planners and external stakeholders to determineexercise-related M&S requirements, assess applicability of specializedcapabilities, and evaluate where a single satellite or constellation of satellites are needed to meet exercise requirements.
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to develop M&S requirements within STK or similar tools.
  • Provides assistance to planning conferences, coordination meetings, training events, etc.
  • Participates as part of the Exercise Control Group (ECG) and White Cell, as required, for various 392 CTS-hosted exercises and mission-focused events.
  • Captures, analyzes, and reports observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of 392 CTS-hosted exercisesand mission-focused events.
  • Supports hot wash debriefs and After Action Report development for applicable exercises or mission-focused events.
  • Prepares event-related documents (i.e., trip reports, exercise planning/execution products, after-action reports, lessons learned,meeting minutes) within established time frames.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years working in or for DoD organizations.
  • Experience using STK, ODTK, and other M&S tools to plan analysis of orbital maneuvers, build functional orbital and space terrestrial models (e.g., space domain awareness (SDA), communications, electronic warfare, directed energy), and develop exercise scenarios.
  • Experience supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis of national security space-related problems.
  • Experience modeling space scenarios for system evaluation and mission effectiveness.
  • Experience (i.e., a basic proficiency) in coding languages (e.g., Python, Matlab, Perl)
  • Experience inorbitanalysis and prediction.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience managing projects from initial design to completion.
  • Level III certified in STK
  • Previously certified Orbital Analyst
  • Graduate of Space 300 and the 319 CTS/ASOPS Advanced Orbital Mechanics courses

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI

TRAVEL:This position requires limited travel (3-4 weeks/year)
