Position Title : Network Engineer (Level IV)
Position Location : This position is full time onsite at the Brooke Army Medical Center (Brooke AFB) in San Antonio, TX.
Daily Responsibilities :
•Act as an on-site lead for all contractors in the branch as it pertains to the below functions.
•Manage and maintain WLAN infrastructure, including AP installations, VLAN configurations, and 802.1X authentication with Cisco ISE.
•Lead WLAN projects, perform advanced troubleshooting, and mentor junior staff while providing complex technical documentation.
•Design and recommend new WLAN solutions, collaborating with LAN Engineers on unified network authentication.
•Configure and support LAN infrastructure, including Layer 2/3 networks, VLAN trunking, and PoE device management.
•Lead LAN infrastructure projects, perform advanced troubleshooting, and create complex technical documentation.
•Oversee structured cabling installations, ensuring TIA/EIA compliance, proper labeling, and optimal cable performance.
Required Years of Experience (min) :
•Eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
Required Degree/Certifications :
•Master's Degree and/or equivalency (BA/BS = 2 years additional experience | HS/GED = 6 years additional experience)
•One form of a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification.
•Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) training
•IAT II: Please see Section 3.0 Commercial Certificates for DoD 8570.01-M certificate requirement
Required Experience :
•Four (4) years of practical experience in a production environment.
•Five (5) years or more experience in a major hospital supporting more than 100+ beds environment.
•Five (5) years of experience supporting a military production network.
•Ten (10) years of experience supporting LAN and WLAN activities.
•Designing and deploying a wireless network consisting of 1300+ wireless access points (WAPs).
Required Clearance :
•SECRET or Eligible to obtain a SECRET Clearance (Tier 3 (T3))
