Description

Position Title: IT Planner

Location: Fort Eisenhower, GA

Clearance Level required: Secret

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • THIRD PARTY INSPECTIONS: Assist the COR or other designated Government representatives in Cyber Operational Readiness Assessment (CORA) inspections on third-party Contractor or Government installation projects as assigned by the COR. Installation projects will be directly linked to planning and oversight of data and network infrastructure projects including, Military Construction - Army (MCA), Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM), and in-house projects. Historically, the NEC oversees approximately 20 concurrent projects. The Contractor shall aid these Government or third-party Contractor personnel by providing familiarization with the physical location of equipment.
  • Provide project management support for non-Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) IT related projects to support all in-scope projects such as network expansions, planning of customer AITP requirements, and installation-wide projects requiring communications and infrastructure planning to include projects such as MILCON, SRM, and renovation projects.
  • Conduct market research, propose recommended solutions, and maintain interpersonal relationships with supporting organizations to support community requirements.
  • Conduct studies to identify and recommend the most appropriate course of action and be able to present briefings to senior leadership along with participation in all design meetings.
  • Perform site surveys on the installation to analyze the condition of existing IT/telecommunications services, facilities, and equipment and provide reports to the Government for review.
  • Perform technical analysis, preliminary detail system designs, and market research to prepare IT/telecommunications concept plans and proposals for Government consideration.
  • Provide technical support and assistance of preparing all IT/telecommunication requirements necessary for completing an operational and functional information systems network design serving the supported community meeting all applicable CAN architecture standards. These designs include cost estimates, materials, components, blueprints, and architecture structure requirements.
  • Work with NEC Government appointed Point Of Contact (POC) for them to coordinate with other Government organizations for the implementation of planned services and information systems.
  • Evaluate specific applications of information and communications technology cabling installations.
  • Make OSP/ISP recommendations based on applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Plan and scope OSP/ISP installations as well as retrofits and upgrades for existing infrastructure.


Qualifications

  • Mastery of project management principles, processes, and procedures using best practices such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) standards.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities as a project manager to work through the project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects.
