Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assist the Government QAE in preparing QA documentation and evaluation reports.
- Provide data to maintain records and update databases, spreadsheets, charts and graphs as required.
- Recommend actions to improve processes to the NEC Government Project Manager and DCO Chief.
- Recognize and report safety hazards to appropriate authorities.
- Perform system testing for Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) Cabling and report test results to the NEC Government Project Manager and DCO Chief.
- Read and interpret test results for OSP and ISP cabling systems on request to the NEC Government Project Manager and DCO Chief.
- Participate in inspections, reviews and surveys pertaining to communications construction with Department of Public Works (DPW), United States Army Corp. of Engineers and Fort Eisenhower NEC, providing an analysis to the Government QAE.
- Assess internal documentation and processes, conduct surveys to improve system documentation and support communications planning and design efforts.
- Participate infield surveys to collect and diagram data pertaining to telecommunication assets. Field surveys are to determine copper cable, fiber optic, and associated infrastructure along with the configuration, connectivity and geographic location.
- Assemble required data and drawings for telecommunications infrastructure to include manhole diagrams, building connectivity, buried cable locations and aerial cable configurations.
- Provide input for validation of the existing cable plant at Fort Eisenhower. All required cable records shall be established and verified from the point of demarcation through the customer termination point. Provide updated OSP Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings and keep existing CAD and cable documentation up to date and identify any unserviceable infrastructure.
Qualifications
- A mastery level of expertise for communication OSP construction, installation and ISP premise wiring.
- A knowledge of ISP, OSP, and data switches infrastructure.
- Proficiency in cable testing and operation of test equipment associated with all cable systems testing.
- Knowledge and understanding of Army Installation Criteria and associated Technical Guides (TG) such as the Installation Information Infrastructure Architecture (I3A) TG.
- Copies of RCDD and technician level certification training from military communications training or other commercial communication institutions equivalent to Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) and provide upon task order award.
- Full knowledge and understanding of Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) Building Telecommunications Wiring Standards and be familiar with the following specifications.
